Advantech makes red carpet tradeshow return

After four years absence from tradeshows, Advantech is returning in style with a presence at four major events in 2012 including CeBIT where the company will have a raft of products on display in its largest stand ever.

"Advantech withdrew from all shows after mid-2008 due to a general downturn in tradeshow attendance figures, but this year we are back with our largest stand ever," Marketing Services Manager, Jasmine Poussard, explained.

Advantech will also be unveiling its newest and best products from four different divisions at the Sydney show during Mayto showcase the range of solutions it has to offer across multiple industries.

"The theme we are carrying through all our exhibitions this year is just how rugged and well-designed our products are," Product Sales Manager, Maurizio Spano, said.

For example, one product for launch at the CeBIT is our XMT5-7 computer submerged in water; it will be a sight to see. The tank water level will rise and fall, which is 100 per cent controlled by Advantech’s industrial automation products.

The durability of Advantech products in the toughest conditions is literally encased in the company’s improved atom-based embedded automation computers, the UNO-2173 / UNO-2178.

"Although the technologies are mature, the UNO-2173/2178’s release allows these technologies to enter harsher environments, with higher temperatures and more focus on reliability than comparable products," Richard Ronc, Industrial Automation Product Sales Manager, said.

Facing slightly less harsh conditions are some of the new Advantech intelligent video solutions, including the ARK-DS762 signage wall platform, a compact i5/i7 based media player supporting three independent high definition HDMI displays.

"We’ll also be demonstrating Oneview integrated patient healthcare information and entertainment solutions at CeBit, which run on the new Advantech HIT-W181 Patient Infotainment Platform," Product Sales Manager Brad Waterssays said.

Finally, Advantech’s Microsoft division now boasts a full range of products compatible with Microsoft Kinect on Windows Embedded Standard 7 OS.

Product support manager for the suite,Damian Trubiano, explains: "Microsoft Kinect will transform how people interact with Windows-embedded devices in multiple industries, including education, healthcare, retail, transportation, and more."

In addition,Advantech’s Natural User Interface system (NUI) enables advanced tracking, gesture recognition, voice control and more.

"To take advantage of the exciting new interactive possibilities, we’ve developed new industrial grade platforms with pre-configured Windows Embedded Standard 7 and Kinect support in order to help build up Kinect Ready devices," Trubiano added.
