Blueberry and Cherry Tomato Packing Equipment

With the high cost of labour and lack of skilled workers, Blueberry and cherry tomato growers are automating their packing lines in greater numbers. With labour rates at up to $25 per hour per head and availablity of this labour force is often erratic as these workers are often backpackers and itinerant workers who move around.

It is easy to see why growers are automating the packing process as the justification equation is easy to make. In many situation payback for this type of equipment is less than half a season. Of course for the grower, this provides a unique set of challenges:

This system provides the opportunity to deliver an accurate amount of product to each clamshell without overfilling, thus saving up to 10-20% of the yield. These volume fillers are simple to use and fast and will ensure your product is delivered to the markets faster and safer than ever before! The Weighmaster system provides the dual benefit of reducing production labour through automating the process of denesting, weighing and packing the fruit and increasing yield through accurately weighing product to within 1 or two pieces of fruit .

User Interface

The user interface has been designed with simplicity in mind. Using a touch screen monitor the user can easily change items such as clamshell type and target weight with the touch of a button.

Cleaning

The machine is built in stainless steel and particular care has been taken in design and construction to ensure the machine can be cleaned easily. A manual control function on the user interface enables all parts to run independently for cleaning.

Versatility

The Weighmaster is able to fill a wide range of clamshells from 100grams to 2.5 kg.
