Coaxial Cable Bonding Kit | EKIT-1, EKIT-2 & EKIT-3
Supplied by: Novaris
The EKIT-1, EKIT-2 and EKIT-3 Coaxial Cable Bonding Kits are utilised to ensure that cables are electrically bonded to towers and so form part of the lightning return path.
When lightning strikes a communications tower current flows to ground via the tower leg steel work and via any feeder cables that exist on the tower. It is impossible to sufficiently insulate these coaxial feeders or waveguides from the tower to prevent a flashover.
Features of the EKIT-1, EKIT-2 and EKIT-3 Coaxial Cable Bonding Kit:
- Cable earthing kits are installed at the tower top, at the bottom of the tower on the vertical section immediately before the cable turns onto the horizontal cable runway and at the cable entry point.
- The Cable bonding kit optimises the lightning current flow direct to ground and not into the equipment building.
- Cable earthing kits connect coaxial cable sheaths and waveguide to the tower frame. No other earthing other than direct to the tower structure is required.
When protecting signalling systems it is vitally important to remember that protection is also required for the incoming power lines. Novaris is able to offer a comprehensive range of surge filters from 2A to 2000A per phase.
Surge filters provide highly reliable and effective surge protection for even the most sensitive electrical and electronic equipment. For further details on the full Novaris range of surge filters please contact Novaris or visit our website at http://www.novaris.com.au
