Economical conquest for industry

The Conquest range was developed by CAPS in order to supply compressors to customers with constrained budgets.

"CAPS identified a need in the market for good quality compressors at a reasonable price," said John Strudwick, the manager of National Business Development Wholesale Products at the company. "Development of the range was price-driven in order to come up with economic units that performed as well as the big, branded machines."

The available range includes versions with single-phase electric motors up to three horsepower and three-phase motors of 5, 7.5, 10 and 15 horsepower. Petrol motor compressors range between 5.5 and 20 horsepower, along with a 14 horsepower diesel model.

The fuel driven compressors are designed for use in truck mounted applications, or in remote areas, where electricity is not available. Truck-mounted and mobile activities include roadside vehicle servicing and repair, chemical spraying and mechanical fruit tree pruning. Electrically driven motors are commonly used in commercial workshops and other light industrial processes.

According to Strudwick, the extended range also includes one model with a unique vertical design which was developed for people with a need for air tools, but with only access to single-phase power. "This is ideal for smaller businesses such as mechanics, panel beaters or farms that have to use impact tools but don’t have three-phase power available," he said.

Conquest compressors are despatched either directly to special order customers or to local distributors. CAPS adds the different sizes of petrol and diesel engines to the air receiver and compressor assembly, and carries out any custom modification. The units that are then sent directly to customers or to distributors.

As the market grows, CAPS will look to extend the Conquest range and continue to supply the lean, green machines to Australian customers. "The Conquest range is leaner in price, greener for the environment and has unique features," Strudwick concluded.
