Rendezvous Hotel, Melbourne, Australia

27 - 28 Nov 2008

Now, safety is moving increasingly from a functional concern relegated to a few focused professionals, to a fundamental priority across the organisation.

Based on an examination of 73 BBS applications in US over a five-year period, safety performance based on the measure of improvement of injury rate was found to have an average increase of 26% after the first year of the approach being implemented and an average of 69% increase by the fifth year. This research involved a good cross-section of industrial sectors, including mining, petroleum, chemical, paper and food.

This 2nd Annual BBS conference is to advocate the importance and use of safety consequences to initiate safety behaviour and promote a safety environment, not only to reduce loss and injuries but support employees morale to perform better, improving productivity and quality.

Key Topics:

  • Improving management support for an optimized safety culture
  • Applying an effective reward and recognition programme to improve safety performance
  • Applying Risk Management procedure into behavioural based safety programme
  • Reducing ergonomic-related injuries, motivating ergonomic behaviours
  • Maximising safety performance via best leadership strategies
