Hyatt Regency, Adelaide

19 - 22 Oct 2008

Qualcon 2008 is leading the future of Quality and Improvement in Australia.

The theme for the conference is "QUALITY: Process, Innovation and Adaptability" stemming from the Third Generation of Quality being explored by leading researchers in the quality and business improvement arena by researchers such as Professor Kevin Foley.

Craig Ottaway President of AOQ, believes strongly that innovation and adaptability are central to developing business systems required in today’s competitive environment.  Introducing innovation and adaptability into the theme will ensure the conference provides a forum for leading-edge academic debate coupled with practical application to support today’s quality practitioners in being more innovative and adaptable than allowed under traditional process-driven paradigms.

Mr Martin Hamilton-Smith - Leader of the Opposition will officially open the Conference which will feature Keynote speakers including Mr Greg Tunny – Managing Director, ASC PTY. LTD, Dr James Galloway - Chief Executive, JAS-ANZ and Mr Ray Garrand - Chief Executive Officer, DFEEST.

Mr Colin Pitman who is internationally renowned for his work and research in stormwater retention and management will present views on Stormwater as a Precious Resource.

Three concurrent speaker sessions run daily showcasing current quality and business improvement initiatives and research quality management, education and training. Mr Ottaway suggests the challenge today is to develop lines of thinking never seen before in the quality and business improvement field.

Trade exhibitors will give participants an excellent opportunity to access current information, products and services. The trade exhibition is open to the public on Sunday between 3:00pm and 5:30pm.

The Australian Organisation for Quality Inc is a national body with incorporated bodies in South Australia, Victoria, Tasmania and New South Wales.  It was formed in 1968 as a not-for-profit organisation and pioneered efforts to gain acceptance of quality within Australian Industry as a pre-requisite for international competitiveness.

The primary means of AOQ was to initiate quality management and business improvement training and education and to provide a national forum for quality and business improvement practitioners.
