• Always wear safety glasses, never loose-fitting clothing or jewellery.
• Turn off or lock down machinery; stay clear of moving equipment.
• Hydraulic fluid may reach an operating temperature as high as 149°C; let the system cool down before working on equipment.

Conditions of application — inside diameter (ID)
If a hydraulic line must be routed close to hot, hazardous components such as exhaust manifolds, it is suggested that it should be protected with a steel tube or channel, a larger ID outer hose or a fire sleeve, or anchored away from the heat source.
To avoid hose-to-hose or hose-to-metal abrasion, clamp the hydraulic line tightly so it will not rub or, alternatively, use a protective covering such as a coiled spring, coil steel strap, nylon sleeving, spiralled plastic or a section of larger ID hose. Another option is to install a hose that has a hybrid-plastic cover for extra protection.
The ID of a hose clamp should be 1/32" smaller than the hose OD to provide a positive, non-abrading clamping action. Anticipate hose expansion and contraction of ±4%. Avoid clamping hoses to vibrating components. And never clamp a hose on its bending arc.
When replacing hose assemblies, plan the routing of the largest ID lines first. They are the hardest to bend and manoeuvre, especially in tight spaces. Smaller hose IDs can then be routed in tighter areas. Avoid hose-to-hose contact of lines that constantly pulsate. This will reduce cover wear problems.
