Provided by: FleetSafe 12/03/2008 - Australia’s largest locally owned, waste management company, J.J. Richards & Sons, have selected DriveCam's Driving Feedback System to improve driving safety across their fleet. J.J. Richards & Sons operate over 1000 waste removal & recycling trucks and are among the top five largest waste management companies in Australia. During a three month evaluation of DriveCam, J.J. Richards performed an in-depth evaluation of the DriveCam System. The results were overwhelmingly positive, with some drivers immediately demonstrating dramatic improvements in their driving behaviour. DriveCam's Driving Feedback System was selected by J.J. Richards because of its unique ability to record what actually occurs during a driving incident. By reproducing the human experience, DriveCam recordings give an unbiased account of what drivers rely on to make decisions. David Needham, Compliance manager for J.J. Richards said “We are very impressed with the DriveCam System. Over the term of the initial 3 month trial, on average our drivers recorded a minimum 60% reduction in risky driving behaviour, as recorded by DriveCam. We are convinced this reduction in risky driving will make our drivers safer and have a direct impact on reducing vehicle accidents. In fact, after the trial, driver acceptance was very high with the majority of drivers requesting to keep the units”. "We are delighted that J.J. Richards have decided to implement the DriveCam system" said David Quayle, Director of Traffic Intelligence. "Through the combined efforts of J.J. Richards staff, ourselves and DriveCam we have been able to substantially improve the safe driving techniques of the J.J. Richards drivers involved in the initial trial. Safe driving translates to fewer collisions, which lowers insurance losses. At the same time, safe driving reduces vehicle wear and tear and lowers vehicle operating costs." |
