In December 2007, Solar Systems chose Epicor’s Vantage ERP software along with COGITA for the implementation. Given their expected strong growth forecasts for solar power plants they anticipate being extensive users of advanced Vantage functionality — especially Service Connect, Portal, Information Worker, project functionality and workflow customisation. Vantage will form a key part of Solar System’s IT strategy along with Microsoft Project Server and Microsoft SharePoint Server.
Recently Solar Systems announced a 154MW heliostat solar concentrator power station in northern Victoria. The A$420 million project will generate 270,000 MWh per year, enough for more than 45,000 homes. It will also aid in reducing salinity and create jobs during manufacture, construction and operation.
