The Metalsistem systems at work

One of the corner stones of Metalsistems service proposition is the easy to assemble, high load bearing modular functionality of its key components.

These components have the flexibility to integrate with other systems in the range.

The Super 123 and the Unirack ar just two examples that demonstrate the ranges capability to cater for the handling of products such as automotive component parts, tyres, or hanging garments to name a few.

Both shelving systems are designed for light to medium range applications and provide the flexibility to incorporate specialised shelving, dividers and other accessories to suit the diverse range of products required to be stored. When company growth demands larger storage capacity, some of Metalsistem shelving series can be used as a foundation around which an expanding complex ot two and three tiered structures can be built, reaching heights of up to 12 metres.

For heavier duty requirements, the Super 456 features an ability to be configured up to 12 metres incorporating three tiered mezzanine facilities, with a higher load capacity per square metre for the flooring and walkways.

The Metalsistem mezzanine acts as a self standing structure. Unique to this product is the upright profile design, which is manufactured with no holes in a closed box formation and can accommodate up to eight beams, connected to the upright at 90º at the same level.

Durable steel shelf panels and planking, used in the construction of mezzanines and multi tiered structures, are preferred materials due to their proven ability to handle potential fire hazards, as well as specified load capacities.

For medium to heavy loading requirements and reaching the highest level of system integration, including high reach narrow aisle and automated warehouse management capabilities, Metalsistem has created a multifunctional system in the Superbuild and Unibuild. Modular and designed for rapid assembly, both system also incorporate all of the multifunctional characteristics of a technologically advanced facility expected of modern installation providers.

While the Superbuild provides three different frame load options, ranging from 7.5 to 17 tonnes, the Unibuild is able to accommodate up to 37 tonnes.

In order to achieve these high load specifications, Metalsistems engineers have designed upright sections with a closed profile in contrast to the traditional C profile favoured by competitive suppliers. This is considered to be a safer option with enhanced integrity and ability to sustain higher loads.

In order to provide higher load capability at points of high stress, the beam sections are structured with quadruple flange thickness and can be adjusted at 50mm intervals to provide increased flexibility. Tapered locating slots in the upright sections facilitate the attachment of beam flanges designed with five anchor points, three operate in tension and two in compression. Working together, these features provide an extremely secure and improved joint as well as increased load performances.
