Following extended discussions with the Transport Workers Union and the NWS Industrial Relations Commission, Toll Contract Logistics recently reached an amicable agreement to begin a three month pilot with 58 vehicles across its fleet at the Woolworths Distribution Centre in Minchinbury.

During the pilot period, Toll hopes to reduce the number of accidents reduce the number of accidents occurring through both driver and 3 party causes. Mick Cronin of Toll Contract Logistics said “As the largest logistics business in Australia, we have a corporate and moral responsibility to ensure our drivers are the safest on the roads.

Based on feedback to date, we believe DriveCam will assist us achieving this goal. We also have a responsibility to our drivers and the public to accurately determine what has happened in a near miss or accident situation and DriveCam will provide the objective evidence that’s needed.”

The DriveCam Driver Risk Management Program combines sight and sound, event analysis, program management and consistent driver coaching. DriveCam’s palm-sized, exception based video event recorder is mounted on the windshield behind the rearview mirror and captures sights and sounds inside and outside the vehicle. DriveCam’s unique approach reduces vehicle damages, workers’ compensation and personal injury costs by 30 to 90 percent in commercial and government vehicles.
