Walkways and guardrails are preferred by state workplace safety authorities over most other types of fall prevention, like roof anchors, static lines and harnesses. A guardrail adds up to better risk management.

Workplace Access & Safety guardrails comply with AS 1657-1992: Fixed platforms, walkways, stairways and ladders - Design, construction and installation so you can be sure your people are protected and your liability is minimised.

Workplace Access & Safety’s guardrail system has been independently tested for compliance with Appendices B and C of AS1657-1992.

Construction
T6 aluminium or hot-dipped galvanised steel.

Fixings
Use self-sealing bulb type fixing rivets or self-sealing neoprene screws to fix the guardrail to the roof. The guardrail's components are mechanically fixed rather than welded, ensuring compliance with AS1657-1992.

Dimensions
The top rail shall have a vertical height not less than 900mm or more than 1100mm above the working surface. The maximum distance between the top and centre rails shall be 450mm and a maximum of 560mm from the lowest rail to the standing level. The maximum distance between vertical posts shall be two metres. Lateral braces are installed at least every 15 metres of guardrail length.

Roof types
Suitable for all roof types, including Brownbuilt, steel deck, custom orb and asbestos roofs – with minimal new penetrations.
