Horizontal Grinders - HG200
A Grinder in a Chipper Sized Package - The Vermeer HG200 compact horizontal grinder turns wood chips, construction debris and green waste into a range of usable end products that include ground cover, landscape mulch, animal bedding and compost.
The unit provides residential tree care contractors, sawmills, home builders and contractors with an economical alternative to incurring disposal fees or stockpiling unusable chips. Powered by a reliable 85 hp (63 kW) Cummins diesel engine, the compact HG200 has a gross weight of 5500 pounds (2495 kg), making it easy to transport in residential areas.
Feature: Hammermill and Screen Access
Benefit: Operators can load screens by hand without the use of additional support equipment or personnel. The lid also provides access to the hammermill for daily service, inspection, and replacement of cutters and hardware as recommended by the operator's maintenance manual.
Feature: Feed Conveyor
Benefit: Allows maximum material capacity to enhance machine productivity while lessening the amount of non-productive clean up under the grinder. Optional infeed lengths available depending on feeding process (i.e. hand feeding brush 4' table vs. regrinding chips where a 6' table provides more area for loader feeding.
Benefit: This design offers optimum cutting performance with reduced maintenance. The drum has the ability to process light contaminates such as nails, small gravel/stone aggregates, bolts, glass fragments, and plastics that are commonly found in light C&D materials, pallets, or wood chips. Feature: SmartFeed
Benefit: This feed sensing control system helps to increase productivity providing maximum machine performance from available horsepower. Customers can choose between three RPM "droop" settings to make the HG200 fit a specific application. A "plug in" cartridge is installed to change from one RPM setting to another. Feature: Side Discharge Conveyor
Benefit: A side discharge conveyor allows operators to leave the tow vehicle hooked up to the grinder - helping improve job site productivity and allowing operators to transport the grinder to the materials for job site processing. Another benefit of a side discharge is that it gives operators the ability to load into dumpsters, pick-up trucks, or create windrows of processed materials along side the machine. Feature: Lightweight, Compact Design
Benefit: The unit can be towed using Class IV vehicle and its compact design allows for easy transport through residential areas. A lightweight design reduces ground disturbance in residential yards or golf courses. Feature: Chips to Mulch
Benefit: Mulch is a value-added alternative to stockpiling wood chips, or paying disposal fees. Mulch can be marketed as landscape mulch, compost, animal bedding, or ground cover.
Feature: Clutchless PTO
Benefit: It allows the mill to be engaged without sliding the engine or using a traditional slip clutch or idler pulley. This helps reduce the possibility of costly drive-train repairs. The clutchless PTO doesn't apply any side-load to the engine, resulting in less stress on the crankshaft and bearings. It also allows easy belt changes with few tools.
Feature: 85 Horsepower Cummins Turbo Charged Diesel Engine
Benefit: The Cummins turbo charged diesel engine is known for its reliability and widely recognized in the field. This engine has performance features that enhance grinding productivity.
