Under a standstill, livestock vulnerable to foot-and-mouth disease – including cloven-hoofed animals such as cattle, sheep, pigs and goats – may not be transported from the time the standstill is declared until it finishes.
The Department of Agriculture and Food, Western Australia (DAFWA) is working with industry to enhance preparedness for a livestock standstill as part of a national program called Exercise Odysseus.
Find out how a standstill would impact on your business by visiting the DAFWA website and:
- taking a five-minute national livestock standstill quiz and
- reading the national livestock standstill, foot-and-mouth disease, and Exercise Odysseus web pages.
