Advantech has announced the release of the IPC 7/215 mobile and stationary data terminal suitable for off-road vehicle and stationary applications in the harshest environments.
The IPC7/215 can be mounted for use on forklifts, truck cabs, driver compartments, and other in-vehicle scenarios.
The IPC 7/215 has a 15" touchscreen panel enabling more applications with easier viewing and easier navigation. IPC 7/215’s dual-core processors are suited to computational-intense applications and the system supports a choice of Windows® XP Professional, XP Embedded, or Linux. It comes with two PCI expansion slots which allow support for legacy systems, and integration with existing infrastructures.
IPC7/215 is built with industrial-grade components using embedded PC technology, and the system has a strong mechanical design to ensure continuous reliability in day-to-day operations and under harsh environmental conditions. The fanless system has an ultra-rugged, Advantech-DLoG certified touchscreen, sound support, a host of expansion options, and broad support for wireless technologies (WLAN, Bluetooth, RFID, GPS, GPRS) as well.
IPC7/215 carries an IP67 rating, and a class 5M3 certification against shock and vibration—verified by independent laboratory testing. The system works well under rapid and extreme temperature changes, through a range of -10 to 50 °C. It performs superlatively in ultra-rugged environments subject to shock, vibrations, dust, dirt, liquids, and high humidity.
