17/08/2012 - NACHI's crankshaft finishing machine recently received a Technical Development Award from Toyota Motor Corporation.
The Finisher, already the narrowest in its class — while maintaining performance — was made even more compact by reducing the height by 20 per cent and depth by 25 per cent.
Besides enabling production lines to occupy less space, structural modifications have enabled a 30 per cent saving in the number of parts, which cuts costs.
The award was presented to the company for making a great contribution to improving the competitiveness of Toyota products and for developing world-leading outstanding new technology and a new product.
On February 23, NACHI Fujikoshi President Honma attended an award ceremony at the Toyota Motor Corporation Global Supplier Conference held at Nagoya Congress Centre and received a plaque.
For three days from Feb 27, an exhibition with a panel display explaining the technology and a one fifth scale was on display at Toyota Motor Corporation Headquarters Building where more than 4300 people saw the exhibition.
