New press room opens for insignia label manufacturing

After the move into a brand new head office for insignia employees in 2009, the Brisbane manufacturing team has been eagerly awaiting their own new 'office'.

insignia has relocated their press room onsite to a larger manufacturing facility, which began on January 4th this year.

It took two weeks to relocate the label presses to the larger room. The entire manufacturing facility, including packing of finished goods, is now fully air-conditioned.

The press room has been set out with 'Lean Manufacturing' principles in mind, so that the most efficient work flow can be achieved.

Howard Gill, Manufacturing Operations Manager for insignia, believes that the new layout will improve productivity and improve lead times for customers. He said that "process and flow are important in achieving efficiency; a lot of time went into designing the layout of the new press room to ensure we are able to get materials in quickly and finished goods out the door even quicker."

The new manufacturing facility allows for significant expansion for insignia's next growth phase.

insignia employees celebrated the new state-of-the-art modern press room with a Grand Opening Ceremony and breakfast on Thursday, February 4th.
