Brisbane, 16th April, 2007 - ManufactureLink and Australia Post enter into a vendor management agreement.
ManufactureLink and Australia Post have entered a vendor management agreement which allows Australia Post to utilise the full power of ManufactureLink’s online sourcing system without incurring the costs of approving and entering multiple new vendors into their purchasing system.
The vendor management agreement will mean Australia Post can reduce their costs for sourcing custom manufacturing services on two fronts by firstly reducing the time it takes to obtain quotes due to the efficiencies ManufactureLink’s system offers, and secondly by requiring only one vendor in their purchasing system for all custom manufacturing services.
The vendor management system works by Australia Post being able to use ManufactureLink’s system to lodge RFQs, receive quote submissions and choose the supplier they want to use. Once a supplier has been chosen, the purchase order is lodged with ManufactureLink who in turn issues a purchase order to the successful supplier. To make this vendor management system even easier to use ManufactureLink provides full warranty to Australia Post for goods supplied on behalf of our registered suppliers and carries liability insurance as added security.
ManufactureLink is now offering this vendor management scheme to other companies who have similar cost issues associated with continuously adding new vendors to their purchasing system.
