Australis Engineering Wins ORICA Materials Handling Project

26/10/2006 - Australis Engineering has been selected to provide materials handling equipment for Orica’s HCB repackaging project. The materials handling project is worth approximately $2M.

Orica’s Botany site currently stores 50,000 drums of HCB waste which is to be repackaged into new drums and IBC’s suitable for transport off site for further processing.

Australis Engineering will manufacture and install approximately 60 standard 205 litre drum conveyors and pallet conveyors with transfer and reorientation devices.

The project also calls for the design and manufacture of a drum decanting system, 200 and 100 litre drum palletiser, pallet stacker and de-stacker, automatic wash systems and a hoist and conveyor unit for feeding pallets and drums into a shredder.

The repackaging plant is scheduled for commissioning in December 2006.
