31/08/2007 - Bud-Pak Packaging Systems has been awarded the contract to supply a "gross weigh" bulk bag filling station for the new Mindarie Zircon Mine Site. The bulk bag filling station is designed to handle free flowing heavy mineral concentrate at a rate of 10 x 2000kg bags per hour.

The filling station is a stand alone unit with bag placement and removal performed manually by the operator, together with fork lift assistance to remove the filled bags. The bag strap support hooks are mounted on air cylinders to lower the filled bag onto the pallet for removal.

The bulk bag filling station includes the product surge hopper, heavy duty RHS support frame, filling chute complete with a pneumatic inflating dust tight bag holder and bag pre-inflation and dust collection ports, bag pre-inflation system and mild steel product contact surfaces.

The weighing and batch controlling duties will be performed by an Australian Made Rinstrum 5100 Intelligent Batching Controller mounted in a custom made control box designed for easy access by the operator. The 5100 indicator has 100 product memory and full batch reporting.

Newcastle based Bud-Pak has been manufacturing Australian made bagging and filling systems for over 30 years and specialises in complete turnkey systems including Fuji-Ace robotic palletisers and conveying systems.
