Now with Axapta running, these operational problems have completely turned around and AVSyntec is benefiting from significant savings in inventory management, especially purchasing. A system, which was formerly limited to four users, is now unlimited in its capacity and easily accessible.
Data management was a significant problem for Queensland chemical manufacturer, AVSyntec before they called on software engineers, Scalable Data Systems to install their Axapta System.
The company which has three different and independent divisions, Building Surface Protection/Slip Coatings, Adhesives and Glues and Rebound Surface Coatings (for sporting surfaces) like the Melbourne Rod Laver Tennis Centre which was the AV Syntec rebound ace product) has over 2000 stock lines on completely separate database which operated independently to their financial system. These were difficult to access and required time consuming double data entries because of the complexity and lack of integration in the software they were using.
Karen Katavich of AVSyntec comments “We have had significant time saving efficiencies particularly in terms of our stock control. We can easily see what product we have in stock and are better able to inform our customers. It has been a great move forward for improving our customer and supplier relationships.”
She continues, “We chose Scalable Data Systems’ Axapta software because of its great functionality and flexibility. As a management team, we felt the most important aspect for future expansion of our business was a system that would allow us to make better business decisions. Axapta has changed the way we think and do business as well as enabling us to continually refine and improve what we do.“
AV Syntec sells to 30+ countries around the world, and can monitor sales by product, by region, easily, with full multi-currency facilities.
“It also allows us to monitor data in real time, observe how much business we are doing with our customers, who our best clients are and what products are performing well. Being Windows-based, it permits us to easily integrate with other 3rd Party software modules. For the future, it provides us the option to put our business on the web when we are ready to do this.”
AVSyntec have now been using Axapta for almost two years, going live in 2000 with Axapta Financial and Axapta Manufacturing on the 1st July 2000. The Axapta system at the time replaced an old Wang System which Manufacturing had been operating for 15 years along with a CBA financial system running on a Windows network.
