The expanded product portfolio includes the latest developments in safety technologies from around the world. Adding to FleetSafe's existing range of video based event recorders are technologies including in-vehicle black box monitoring systems, trailer reversing cameras, wireless cctv systems, electronic tyre inspection tools, RFID tyre tracking and fuel management systems. FleetSafe's Managing Director, David Quayle said, "In harnessing the latest advances in vehicle technology, FleetSafe is uniquely positioned to provide tailored safety solutions to a wide range of fleet sizes and structures that address a broad number of issues affecting the road transport industry." The 2008 Convention program addresses the major changes set to affect the trucking industry this year, such as the new fatigue management regulations. The ATA Safety Summit will also be held as part of the convention. The Safety Summit, featuring logistics industry magnate and businessman Lindsay Fox, will explore the latest industry safety issues and provide a platform for operators to set an agenda for the future. Other issues to be covered at the convention include economic updates, transport policy and infrastructure reforms, new environmental targets and regulation issues. The Australian Trucking Association will also launch the new Mobile Education Centre, a state of the art semi-trailer filled with interactive displays on careers in the trucking industry and road safety. According to Mr Quayle, "The focus on safety at this year's convention shows the industry is moving in a positive direction. Safety is great for business. Safe working conditions mean reduced costs associated with accidents and down time which ultimately increases efficiency and profit. However in the transport industry safety means more than simply compliance. It is about creating a culture of safety that saves the lives of drivers and other people on the roads. These are issues that affect us all." The ATA Convention will be held from 27 - 30 May at the National Convention Centre, Canberra.
