New York (November 8, 2007) – Dover Corporation (NYSE: DOV) today announced the combination of two of its Dover Engineered Systems companies: Markem Corporation (located in Keene, NH, USA) and Imaje S.A. (located in Bourg-lès-Valence, France). The newly combined business, now called Markem.Imaje, becomes the world’s largest product identification solutions provider. The business will be uniquely positioned to provide a comprehensive range of marking and coding solutions for packaging industry customers around the world.
“For many reasons, this integration makes sense not only for Markem and Imaje, but for customers as well”, states Omar Kerbage, President of Dover’s Product Identification Group. “Markem and Imaje had always maintained a cordial competitive relationship that grew closer in 2006 when Markem joined Dover, Imaje’s corporate parent since 1995. Starting last December, the senior management teams of Markem and Imaje have been discussing opportunities for cooperation between the two companies. The conclusion was to form one business in order to increase the value provided to both our customers and shareholders.”
