20/09/2007 - The Lloyd Instruments LS100Plus testing machine has proved to be the ideal machine for testing of weld strength in plastic pipe, and is now in use in a number of Australian Laboratories.

Offering a comparatively low cost configuration with up to 100kN force capability, it allows the achievement of all the requirements of the various standards for mechanical testing.   Using the new Nexygen Plus software, it is possible to directly generate reports complete with the logo of the testing company, graphical and tabular presentation of the results, and meeting the stringent requirements for operation as a NATA certified test lab.

With a crosshead travel of 840mm, the LS100Plus can measure to a resolution of 0.08 of a micron, a load cell resolution of <0.006%, and achieve speeds from 0.001 to 250 mm/min.   As well as tensile and peel decohesion methods, it can automatically perform the As1462 test for determination of pipe stiffness.

NexygenPlus meets the special requirements of TickIT for software, which guarantees the traceability and reliability of all calculations, and ensures the integrity of test results once completed.   The LS100Plus and other Materials Testing systems from Lloyd Instruments are supported in Australia by Technical and Scientific Equipment www.techsci.com.au.
