9/10/2008 - A Sydney-based company has begun an investigation into building a wind farm near Yass in southern NSW.

Epuron is studying the wind potential of sites to the west and south-west of Yass.

The company said it has already received planning approval to build three wind farms, including one at Conroys Gap near Yass.

Epuron said sites for the new wind farm included Black Range, the Coppabella Hills and Carrolls Ridge.

The company said it would consult with the community at each stage of the process through newsletters, media releases and open houses. A community consultation day will take place later in the year.
