28/10/2008 - Product Lifecycle Management Australasia (PLMA) today announce the immediate availability of Plant Simulation, a software solution from Siemens PLM, that allows users to optimise throughput, relieve bottlenecks and minimise work-in-process in factories, warehouses and logistical operations.

Plant Simulation enables users to create well-structured, hierarchical models of production facilities, lines and processes, as well as logistical operations and storage and warehousing operations. This is achieved through powerful object-oriented architecture and modeling capabilities that enable users to create and maintain even highly complex systems, including advanced control mechanisms. The simulation models take into consideration internal and external supply chains, production resources and business processes, allowing you to analyse the impact of different production variations.

Jens Schlueter, Chief Executive Officer SpedIT, states: "Plant Simulation is the best logistics simulation tool that I know on the market. Complex system behavior can be analyzed and optimized in a systematic manner. Plant Simulation easily realizes ROI in less than six months and cost savings of more than 30% in the first project."

Dennis Colusso, Director of PLMA says, “Plant Simulation has proved to be an invaluable tool to many Siemens PLM customers in North America and Europe, in many type of industries like consumer-packaged-goods, food processing, logistics and supply chain, mining, automotive and automotive suppliers. Plant Simulation enables them to do “what if” type simulations and optimisations, on their operations before committing to a real world implementation. We feel Australian companies have much to gain in terms of increased productivity by using such a tool in order to maintain competitive advantage to address globalisation challenges.”

PLMA will be holding free seminars on Plant Simulation in Melbourne on the 24th of February, 2009 and in Sydney on the 26th of February, 2009 for more info see www.plma.com.au.
