4/03/2008 - Australia’s importer and distributor of the Nissan Forklift range, Powerlift (Nissan) Pty Ltd, is preparing to boost its services to forklift users in Greater Melbourne, Western Australia and the Northern Territory.

“Following a period of unprecedented growth for both the Nissan Forklift brand and Powerlift, we believe our customers will be best served by wider direct market coverage for the areas of Greater Melbourne, Western Australia and the Northern Territory,” said Powerlift CEO, Kim Campbell.

Mr Campbell said the company’s expansion plans involved changes to existing distribution arrangements and growing its branch network.

“By growing a national network of company-owned offices, Powerlift will be in an even stronger position to provide responsive and efficient service to customers,” he said.

“In Darwin we are appointing a new dealer, while in Melbourne and Western Australia we are opening new branches to provide Powerlift’s high standard of service direct to all forklift users in these areas.”

Powerlift Melbourne’s existing Mulgrave branch and Nissan Forklift dealers have been servicing local forklift users in Melbourne for over 30 years. The additional branch will achieve wider coverage and quicker response times for customers in the Greater Melbourne area.

“These changes will benefit all our customers, as Powerlift will be both the authorised importer and the direct distributor of all Nissan Forklifts and genuine Nissan parts,” said Mr Campbell.

“Customers will be able to purchase or rent Nissan forklifts directly from Powerlift (Nissan) Pty Ltd and existing owners will benefit from quick and direct service from the importer and national parts distributor, without the middle-man.”

Mr Campbell said transition arrangements had been made with United Equipment (the former Nissan dealer for East Melbourne) to prevent any potential disruption to customers operations in the short term.

“We’re committed to looking after Nissan Forklift customers’ interests during this time and are working with United Equipment to ensure continuity of service while Powerlift establishes and expands its operations to cover all Nissan Forklift users, including United Equipment customers.”

Mr Campbell said Powerlift staff and other independent dealers would not be affected by the changes.

Powerlift (Nissan) Pty Ltd is one of the largest and most accomplished operators in the Australian materials handling industry and has imported and distributed the Nissan range of forklifts in Australia for the past 21 years.
