2/12/2008 - Currently there is a gap in the Australian Standards in reference to Insulating and protective pipe for 11KV Power lines.

Without a relevant Australian Standard, we have looked to the American Standards for their equivalent. This was found in ASTM F712 and 968 which rate insulating pipe and shrouds for use up to 14.6KV phase to phase when both phases are covered as well as 8.4KV phase to ground.

We have fully tested our Tiger Tails to meet the requirements of the aforementioned standards and now include this information stamped into the bell housing of the pipe for permanent identification.

We have released a document stating the pipe complies with this standard, the PDF of which can be found in the link below:

Torapoli Pipe or Tiger Tails have been manufactured, sampled, tested and inspected in accordance with ASTM F712 and 968 as a Class 2, Type 1, Grade 3 guard and has been found to meet its requirements.

ASTM F712 rates the pipe for use up to 14.6KV brush contact, when both phases are covered, or 8.4KV phase to ground.
