Due to the hardening degree of aluminium and other nonferrous metals and their alloys, the pores of the grinding wheel are quickly clogged during the grinding process.
Frictional heat arising due to the speed of the right-angle grinder and the shearing forces between the abrasive particals and the material increase this effect.
Due to this clogging, not only is the material removal reduced, but also the service life of the grinding disc is considerably shortened.
The working time per work piece can thus be considerably reduced, which leads to to a reduction in unit wage costs (up to 70%). In addition, long, expensive equipping times of the tools are also reduced. Vulcanised fibre wheels, for example, can be used together with WEICON Alu Grinding Protection until they are completely worn out.
Simple to use:
Spray a thick layer of WEICON Alu Grinding Protection onto the the new grinding disc. In case of reduction in grinding performance, repeat the proceedure. Only start the grinding proceedure after evaporation of the propellant, to avoid a possible explosion.

Abrasive flap discs consist of a support wheel made of different materials reinforced by fibre glass. Lined-up grinding blades have been attached to the support wheel. These blades are covered with various abrasive particals, such as aluminium or ziconium corundum. Abrasive flaps discs are also used on all commercial right-angle grinders with an electric or pneumatic drive.
Since WEICON Alu Grinding Protection prevents the "clogging" of the blades, the functionality of the abrasive material is maintained. Due to the even wear of the grinding particals, the degre of utilisation of the grinding disc is improved and the material removal is increased.
