The intallation of motor starters and breakers is much easier and more cost effective when the main connections have been simplified to a plug in system saving time measuring, marking and drilling holes for terminating the device onto the busbar.
Plug on adaptors have been developed for the GE range of equipment which provide the means to tap off the connection and mount the device.
Once the Surion or Record plus device is mounted on an adaptor the whole assembly is simply plugedonto the 60mm busbar anywhere along its length, for ratings up to 250A.
Busbar system
The heart of the system is formed by a busbar system based on the 60 mm standard for bar spacing. It is made up using standard sets of three pole supports, designed to allow the use ofthe following copper bar dimensions.
- 20 x 5 mm; recommended for 250A
- 20 x 10 mm; recommended for 400A
- 30 x 5 mm; recommended for 400A
- 30 x 10 mm; recommended for 630A
As standard the busbar supports are delivered prepared to receive busbar of cross section 30 x 5 mm, but they can easily be adapted to each other dimension mentioned by an integrated spacing element.
By varying the distance 'D' between the supports it is possible to build a three pole busbar systemwith the following short circuit ratings:
NOTE:
the busbar is normally supplied by the user to ensure additional cost savings.
