The recognised Standard concerning the storage of dangerous goods, AS/NZ 3833:1998, states that stores in which liquids are kept shall be provided with a system of spill containment such as a bund or compound.
In compliance with Australian Standard 1940 for all liquid dangerous goods, the capacity of the compound shall be at least 100% of the largest container and 25% of the storage capacity up to 10,000 litres together with 10% of the storage capacity beyond 10,000 litres. The bund shall be constructed of materials that are resistant to attack by the dangerous goods being stored, and containment shall be dsigned so that substances that might react dangerously are not directed into a common compound.
SAFE-D-CANT would like to introduce this bunded pallet which will accommodate 4 x 205 Lt drums. It is constructed of lightweight polyethelene with a smooth easy clean exterior. It has solid polyethelene grates to prevent human contact with spilt liquid in the bund, and is of a useful stackable design for easy freight and storage. The bund features multiple structural supports for handling heavy loads and has wide forklift pockets for easy relocation.
