All Backhus turners are self propelled, incorporating their own diesel power pack.
The model range for Backhus Windrow Turners start with the Model 14.28 for capacities upto 400m3/hr.
At the top end of the range is Model 16.75 capable of capacities upto 6500m3/h. There are many models in between to suit your application, which we can advise on.
Turners for Tabular Heaps are available using Model 10.30, which versatility allows it to be self propelled on the road (subject to local licensing regulations). This model is capable of production upto 1600m3/hr.
A large range of options are available to optimise the versatility of your windrow turner. These include:
- Fleece Winder for covering the windrow with fabric and allowing turning whilst covered
- Side Load Conveyor allowing side movement of the windrow during turning, or truck loading.
- Water spray hose reels allowing the windrow turner to spray the compost during turning to add moisture to enhance biological process and subsequently enhance dust control.
