Capturing data at the source can provide a range of efficiencies including elimination of duplicate data entry, point of scan validation, improving data accuracy and reducing the number of corrective transactions resulting from incorrect keying.
To support a variety of offline data capture processes, Scalable has developed the following data capture application for use with Denso bar code devices:
- Stock take
- Purchase Order Receipts
- Sales Order pick (with upload validation)
- Sales Order pick (with scan validation)
- Stock transfers
These scanning processes support the Microsoft Dynamics™ AX inventory dimension structure allowing entry and validation of batch and serial number data as well as other item dimensions.
The interface with the scanning device is managed through an Microsoft Dynamics™ AX interface supporting both the upload and download of data.
FEATURES of Barcode Management - Batch Mode for Microsoft Dynamics AX:
- Bar coding device menu
- Prompts displayed on the bar coding device for each code to be scanned or entered
- Display of all input fields in Microsoft Dynamics™ AX in a user-friendly format, which varies for each type of transaction.
- All inventory dimension values may optionally be entered for all transactions
- Users have the option to enter the required fields in the scanner and to display them in the Microsoft Dynamics™ AX module
- Validation of data takes place prior to each transaction being posted
- Corrections are made in the Microsoft Dynamics™ AX resident module
- Uploaded transactions are not posted until all transactions in the upload have been successfully validated.
