WIKA Australia - New "wikaramic"(R) ceramic coated pressure instrument seal for abrasive media.

In process industries, a wide variety of processes are monitored using pressure gauges and pressure transmitters. However when used in abrasive media, these instruments can be subjected to accelerated wear, meaning high costs in terms of maintenance and replacements.

Slurries, sandy or powdery process media act on the measuring instruments like emery paper, wearing the connections or sensitive diaphragms.

WIKA now offers pressure measuring instruments mounted in combination with diaphragm seals that are coated with "wikaramic" (R) to resist the abrasion. The flush diaphragm seals have a high abrasion resistance, to prevent them from wearing quickly.

The process pressure is transmitted via the flexible diaphragm to the fill fluid, and from there to the transmitter or gauge. In this way slurries and other media with solid contents, can be reliably measured.
