Drop Centre Platform Scales are ideal for weighing rolling loads such as trolleys. Drop Centre Platform Scales, sometimes referred to as Low Profile Platform Scales, are commonly used in laundries, hospitals, stores and despatch offices.
The Drop Centre Platform Scale is typically constructed from mild steel and supplied with a painted finish, though stainless steel versions are also available. The typical, usable weighing area is 1050mm wide by 1200mm long but, because QWM has its own, in-house Fabrication Workshop, a complete range of sizes is available.
Although limited ribbing is installed beneath the weighing area, it is not substantial enough to prevent the weighing area from flexing (unlike the design of our Standard Platform Scale). As a result, the maximum capacity of the Drop Centre Platform Scale must be limited to 600kg.
The Drop Centre Platform Scale is a non-trade design, meaning that it should not be used to buy or sell product based on weight.
A ramp is used to access the weighing area and the Drop Centre Platform Scale is typically supplied with one ramp and a back stop-rail to prevent the rolling load from being pushed off the rear of the Platform Scale.
As an alternative, the Drop Centre Platform Scale can be supplied with an optional second ramp, allowing a rolling load to be weighed from either end of the Platform Scale.
The Drop Centre Platform Scale is fully electronic and uses four-shearbeam loadcells for best accuracy and reliability.
