Millsom Materials Handling in conjunction with it's world-wide partner Schmalz GmbH, are pleased to be able to provide a new automation solution for handling narrow products with gaps.

The new FXC-DG (Door Gripper) is an option of our standard range of FXC large area grippers which has been optimised to provide high holding forces on narrow products that run perpendicular to the rail.

The main beam of the gripper is made from a light-weight aluminium extrusion which incorporates two "T" slots for easy mounting. The gripper beams are fitted with a long lasting foam mat which has a soft contact surface for handling delicate surfaces, and a cell structure with valve technology, so unused cells will shut off, thus maintaining vacuum in the cells that hold the product.

An integrated filter screen embedded into the foam mat prevents dust and debris from entering the system. Vacuum generation is by means of a multi-stage venturi type vacuum pump, that slots into the end of the aluminium profile section "cassette" style, that leaves a neatly finished product. The pumps are available in four different power ratings, allowing optimal system design.

The system is particularly suitable for:
• Doors with cavities, milled patterns or raised textures
• Plank handling or stacking
• Pallet handling
• Timber stacking
• Other long, narrow product handling
