Glass bead is used in all types of compressed air blast equipment, using a dry or wet process. Surface treatment with glass bead can be used as a finishing process or as a supplement treatment.

For example, initial treatment utilising aluminium oxide followed by glass bead greatly improves the surface finish, leaving a satin lustre. Glass bead is a relatively gentle surface treatment which makes it ideal for use on delicate and precision parts as it won’t distort dimensions and results in a smooth polished surface.

Applications: deburring, finishing, pre-coat surface treatment, descaling, removal of carbon, paint and corrosion deposits, polishing, etching, removal of residual deposits from moulds, peening.

Suitable for: delicate aluminium mouldings & castings; pump and meter reconditioning; plastic, glass and rubber mouldings; instrument & electrical parts; bearings, gears & precision parts; finishing non metallic decorative pieces.
