The Quantum system accurately processes lightweight items such as while also handling larger items.
The High speed sortation system is based on belt conveyor technology but offers high
speed sortation, cost effectiveness, low maintenance capability in its
simple design, engineering and user friendly controls.
With the Quantum solution, running multiple lines with a wide-range of different products is no longer a problem.
Bringing the various products to a central point and redistributing them to either a manual or automatic palletiser, or other handling requirements, is made easy by the Quantum sortation process.
The High speed sortation system provides two choices of high speed, sortation systems
known as the QuikSort and the MaxiSort. The QuikSort handles weights up to 12 kilograms, while the MaxiSort handles weights up to 50 kilograms.
Both options have multiple carrier belts and roller diverters that allow items to be diverted to either the left or right side.
High speed sortation system makes it possible to use one diverter for two sort locations. In the case of smaller items, as many as four sort locations can be created from one divert station.
The combination of diverter modules and sortation units can allow one sorter to be used for small to large items varying in size, shape, material and weight.
Something as small as a business card can be diverted accurately. Once an item has passed the
scanner, which is ancillary to the system, the sorter can accurately
calculate diversion because the belt speed is fixed.
High speed sortation system allows the sorter to handle closely spaced products including difficult irregular shaped items easily.
The Quantum system affords low maintenance costs by lifting the package away from the belts. The rollers lift up and only move upon contact with the conveyored item allowing accurate and reliable sortation at a right angle, this is an excellent feature for light weight packages.
Optional design features of High speed sortation system can allow for angular diverting if required.
Quantum conveyors are modular and able to offer full zero pressure
accumulation, individual, or slug release modes, or straight transport only, depending on the configuration of the particular module selected.
The Quantum system was deliberately designed for easy maintenance with repairs typically made using off-the-shelf items.
For example, belt maintenance is easy due to the use of clipped joint, and the system uses
a plug and play UC200 style control driverboard, which uses telephone lead connections driverboard to driverboard through the system and back to
the control system.
The quick change diverter station minimises downtime because it can be changed over in 3-5 minutes.
The pre-programmed software is fully loaded and user friendly using a standard pentium Quantum configured PC and running a Windows NT platform and customised standard Database software.
A significant benefit to the Quantum sortation system is a very low noise level. While a similar conventional sorter is above 85 dba, the Quantum is less than 75 dba not withstanding product noise.
When operating at very high speeds, such as 240 pieces per minute, the typical dba is 72.
