The LP4PT1000 is a low power four channel temperature transmitter board that utilizes a PT1000 Resistance Temperature Detector (RTD) as the sensing element. It is particularly suitable for battery operation as it overcomes the drawbacks of traditional 4-20mA transmitters that require a high current draw.
The LP4PT1000 converts the resistance of the PT1000 sensor into a voltage level in the range of 0-2.5V rather than a current level, thus avoiding a significant current drain. The low current (0.33mA with a 9V supply) budget of the LP4PT1000 harmonises well with low power data loggers and is ideally suited to the four channel Narrow Universal data Logger (NUDL) to produce an integrated logging solution.
The platinum provides good accuracy, excellent stability and repeatability, and is relatively immune to electrical noise and therefore well suited for temperature measurement in industrial environments, especially around motors, generators and other high voltage equipment.
The LP4PT1000 has onboard trimmers for individual channel offset adjustment, and a fixed span yielding a dynamic temperature range of 200 degrees Celsius.
The LP4PT1000 can be directly interfaced to the ETM9500 wireless terminal via its I/O ports for applications requiring remote access of data for real-time reporting, web delivery via the Internet, or via SMS alarms.
