ProductNew ‘future proof’ print & apply label applicators
Markem-Imaje Business Group - Imaje Coding Technology is launching its new Imaje 2000 print and apply label applicator series offering manufacturers a faster, easier, more robust, and highly flexible labelling option for all carton-case coding and pallet-labelling applications. The Imaje 2000 is based on a newly developed print engine that can be customised to suit any automated labelling application, no matter how demanding.According to Greig Francis, National Sales Manager for Imaje Coding Technology, the new Imaje 2000 print and apply label applicator series is the most flexible on the market today. “Ease of use, flexibility and cutting edge technology are the standout features of the new Imaje 2000 print and apply series. “ “Changing consumables is quick and easy as is servicing and maintienence.” “The new modular design ensures the Imaje 2000 print and apply label applicator range is ‘future proof’ and this means impressive savings for manufacturers, and importantly the Imaje 2000 series is RFID future capable,” said Greig Francis. There are several applicator module types including wipe, tamp and blow. Manufacturers can also easily swap between direct thermal and thermal transfer operation; 4” to 6” printhead size and 200dpi and 300dpi print resolution as required. In addition, the label applicator module is easily fixed to the universal mounting bracket offering complete flexibility for label application and orientation - top, side, front, adjacent sides or corner wrap. “If production requirements change, typically manufacturers are forced to replace their entire labelling system. The Imaje 2000 series enables customers to adapt and mix and match by simply reconfiguring label applicators to meet a variety of labelling demands," said Greig Francis. Of particular interest to FMCG manufacturers is the ability of the Imaje 2000 to apply two labels on adjacent sides of the one carton, in one pass and at very high speeds (60+ labels per minute or 30+ boxes per minute). This is a requirement of EAN128 barcoding. Switching from one label size to another is quick and uncomplicated due to the high capacity label handling unit with a simple label thread path, and to reduce consumable changeover time the ribbon and label roll are synchronised, meaning only one stop to change both. The Imaje 2000 comes standard with high-speed communication interfaces to enable easy integration into current production lines. The built in web browser, together with multiple input and output connections, results in superior integration possibilities and the ability to remotely access the equipment. The new system is operator friendly and intuitive. It is fitted with a graphical display and can be supplied with an optional keyboard for stand-alone use. To further assist production staff, the Imaje 2000 stand is supplied with a robust docking station from which the machine can be simply wheeled away to allow for easy wash down and cleaning of the production area. According to Greig Francis, initial interest in these new improved print and apply systems has exceeded all expectations. “We are delighted with customer feedback for the Imaje 2000; it supports our belief that this equipment is superior to anything on the market today and the best news for our clients, is equipment purchased today will see them through for many years due to the innovative flexible design.” SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE NEW IMAJE 2000
