The latest power supply line-up from Phoenix Contact includes the new 40A single phase model and new uninterruptable series, both from the QUINT power supply family.
Due to the reliance by control systems on a quality supply of power, industrial power supplies must provide a reliable DC supply, regardless of mains voltage conditions and regardless of load conditions. In addition, control and field cabinets often create space constraints which must be met with compact solutions.
The QUINT power supply range from Phoenix Contact is available in a wide range of voltage and current outputs, ranging from single phase 2.5 amps to 40 amps, and three phase 5 amps to 40 amps. They can be wired in parallel for redundant applications and should a phase failure occur, the three phase power supply continues in operation, further ensuring reliability.
Standard power supplies typically have difficulty coping with high inrush loads. To overcome this, the QUINT series is designed with a power boost capability which can provide up to 200% of the rated current, enabling the start of high inrush loads without fault. Short term power dips in the mains supply are also compensated for through the mains buffering feature, ensuring uninterrupted supply of the DC output. In addition, the QUINT series is short-circuit proof and idle proof. A fault alarm contact also enables remote monitoring.
The wide input voltage range allows the QUINT series to be used with all international mains voltages, and also ensures reliable operation through mains supply voltage fluctuations.
