Rittal's new roof-mounted cooling units are a milestone for pinpoint-accuracy in enclosure climate control. The special air ducts mean that cool air can be directed precisely where it is required.
Even in enclosures densely outfitted with electronics equipment, the cooled air reaches right to the floor, thanks to the user-configurable internal circuit air ducts (protection category IP 54).
Heated air in the roof area is extracted centrally. This solution opens up whole new possibilities for electronic component systems. Heat pockets simply cannot be created. A new kind of air ducting makes the external circuit (IP 34) suitable for a wide range of assembly requirements.
The new, compact units (W 600 x H 400 x D 462 mm) have a useful cooling output of 1500 W to DIN 3168 L35 L35. They are supplied ready for connection, and are particularly suited for enclosures with dimensions from width 600 mm and depth 500 mm.
In the standard version, temperature control is realised by an internal thermostat. Alternatively, a microprocessor version is also available: as well as temperature control, it also provides constant system analysis.
For applications using a number of cooling units, such as in a suite of enclosures, an SK bus system can be used to provide operator-friendly joint monitoring for all of them. The refrigerant used is R-134a, the working temperature range is 20 to 55°C, and the supply voltage can be either 115 V or 230 V, 50/60 Hz.
