Thermometers and thermocouples sensors are subjected to mechanical, thermal and chemical stresses which speed up the ageing process. This is particularly true in industrial use. However, since temperature has become one of the most important indicators of quality, operational safety and service life in industrial processes, the onsite calibration of temperature sensors is essential.
The aim of SIKA engineers was to produce a range of precision calibrators that would cover the whole scope of temperature calibration.
For use in harsh environments such as ships engine rooms, coal mines and steel mills Sika have produced the rugged TP17650 with a bore of 28mm diameter, 150mm deep, a range of 30C to 650C with an accuracy of +/- 0.8C, more than adequate for what is required.
For more exacting requirements there are several other models from which to choose. For Laboratory use in the food industry for example, we can offer the TP 38 160, with a range of -30C to +160C with an accuracy of+/- 0.1C up to 100C then 0.1% of the measured value. Full outputs are available on this instrument to enable computer analysis of results.
