The SIMATIC Mobile Panel 277 with 8" TFT/64K-color touchscreen - which has received the iF Award 2006 - is expanding the family of the SIMATIC Mobile Panels.
The Mobile Panel 277 will be offered in the three equipment versions already familiar from the Mobile Panel 177, and as a matter of principle supports PROFINET and PROFIBUS. The selection of the desired communication bus takes place by selecting the corresponding cable and respective connection box. For this, all cables and connection boxes already released for the Mobile Panel 177 are available.

The new device makes available the advantages of a Mobile Panel also to the 270 series performance class:
- Flexible application at different connection points
- Usage if direct visual contact to the process is required, e.g. during the precise setup or exact adjustment of process parameters
Thus, projects for mobile applications can now also be implemented that for example:
- Require the quantity schedule of the 270 series class
- Utilize scripts and archives

The Mobile Panel 277 has the following features:

- Bright 7.5" TFT display with 64K colors (resolution of 640 x 480 pixels)
- Operation via touchscreen and 18 membrane keys with LED as well as acknowledgment pushbutton - optional are STOP pushbutton, handwheel, key-operated switch and illuminated pushbutton
- Externally accessible USB interface
- Onboard PROFIBUS and PROFINET
- Short startup time following the docking.
By employing the optional rechargeable battery pack, the restart of the Mobile Panel - after a brief separation from the connection box - can be avoided.
