Speed and Performance
The-ST-7000 is equipped with a high performance processor and high FSB thus accelenning response time, while its high capacity memory of up to 2GB reduces paging - two features which help to eliminate bottlenecks.
Advanced Connectivity
There are a variety of interfaces on the ST-7000 series. The ST-7000-WM-2E and ST-7000-WM-F models have both leading-edge interfaces and legacy interfaces. The powered USB of the leading-edge interface cleans
the cable wiring and the legacy interfaces such as RS-232C and parallel connect the existing peripherals. The ST-7000-WM-I C model makes Ihe number of interfaces a minimum. By adding the optional boards, the peripherals can be connected more within the limitation of power supply.

The ST-7000 integrates power and features into a very small footprint optimising selling space. Its robust and versatile design makes the ST-7000 the ideal choice for retailers.
Product Operating Environment
The ST-7000 hardware design is compatible with MS-DOS, Windows, and the Certified Linux operating systems. Based on a PC architecture, the ST-7000 can run both off-the-shelf applications and specific software developed by Value Added Resellers for retail sectors which is an additional and significant productive factor in the POS environment. As a key member of the OLE POS COmmittee. TOSHIBA TEC continuously promotes the standardization of drivers for peripheral devices for the retail market. This standardization in turn provides the versertility and convenience of application development for VAR and software developers allowing the flexibility to use peripherals from different manufacturers in one system.
Easy Maintenace
For essential maintenance, key components are designed as slide-out-modules to enable quick replacement and to minimize down-time. Replacement of the Hard disk via the front panel is achievable in only a few seconds. Easy connection and disconnection of peripheral devices is possible via the external interfaces located at the rear of the machine.
Security and Reliability
For data security TOSHIBA TEC offers an internal shut down UPS while the front panel cover of the ST-7000 comes with a key lock preventing unauthorised access to the power switch. Additional reliability is offered by the "heat release" design, enabling cabinet air flow and hardware monitoring such as CPU core temperature and CPU fan revolutions per minute.
