2-Stage SSR provides Efficient Airend Technology - With the SSR, Ingersoll-Rand engineers have created two-stage technology efficiency with long-term reliability, while still offering the typical low maintenance costs of the I-R single stage rotary compressors. This result proves to be a winning combination.
Rotors Optimised for Peak Efficiency
To achieve peak efficiency, and because the two compression stages have different objectives, I-R’s two-stage rotary screw air end uses different I-R profile rotor sets. The first stage rotor uses a profile for high displacement and discharge at relatively low pressure. The second stage profile achieves compression to final package pressure.
Superior Bearings and Lubrication
In addition to superior efficiency, consumers require reliable and sustainable machinery. Both rotor sets use only highest quality duplex tapered roller bearings, which provide a line contact to distribute the load equally over a bigger area and substantially extend the life of the airend.
Innovative Coolant Dams
I-R’s innovative coolant dams trap coolant upon compressor shutdown, to ensure proper bearing lubrication at start-up and extended bearing life. Slower rotor speeds and lower pressure differentials across the rotor sets also enhance airend reliability.
Single-point Connections
The SSR is fully piped and wired, providing users with simple external connection at all times.
Spin On Coolant Filter
The SSR includes a spin-on coolant filter for easier removal and replacement.
Higher Ambient Operating Temperature
The SSR is designed to operate efficiently in 46°C ambient. Because it has been designed with high temperatures in mind, potential shutdowns because of high temperatures have been accounted for.
Star Delta Starter
Standard, and integrally mounted on all models within an Ip55 enclosure, the Star Delta Starter effectively provides the compressor with a cushioned controlled start to eliminate any starter set backs.
Convenient Top Exhaust
Cooling air flow discharges from the top of the package to facilitate easier ducting of waste heat for removal or recovery.
