Conlab Pty Ltd has announced the release of its ZigSense™ line of wireless sensors utilizing ZigBee™ mesh network technology as its core communications channel.

Australian designed and made, ZigBee™ wireless nodes establish a self-healing network of spatially distributed sensors that cooperatively monitor physical and environmental conditions. Data can be transferred to standard SCADA, Telemetry, PLC and HMI stations via a ZigSense™ communications gateway.

ZigSense™ nodes are designed to meet a growing demand by the industrial world to minimize installation costs whilst new or existing plants expand their operations through additional field equipment. Industrial, manufacturing, Water treatment, Chemical processing plants and mining sites are just a few examples where the need for reliable and portable monitoring channels are required ad-hoc between remote instrumentation devices and the plant’s control room.

ZigSense™ incredible flexibility, simplicity of installation and wire-free connectivity are the right answers where efficiency, costs savings, process optimization and energy savings are critical factors in today’s tough economic conditions.

ZigSense™ wireless nodes are built into a small robust polycarbonate IP65 enclosure. Designed for low power consumption, they utilise sleep mode to operate under battery power for a prolonged period of time. ZigSense™ nodes can be interfaced to multiple sensors including general IO devices and legacy serial links such as RS232 and RS485.
A communications gateway links between the ZigSense™ wireless network of sensors and standard monitoring and control systems. A ZigSense™ gateway uses Modbus/RTU or Modbus/TCP protocol as its default communications link.
