02/05/2012 - The Spraying Systems Co. family of PulsaJet® automatic spray nozzles provide accurate spray placement and excellent spray pattern integrity with a wide range of design options.
The Spraying Systems Co. PulsaJet® options are designed to improve performance and increase productivity by providing unmatched precision for the most demanding coating, sealing and marking operations.
The benefits of changing to PulsaJet® Automatic Spray Nozzles are many:
- Achieve increased productivity through high speed cycling of up to 10,000 cycles per minute or more, means faster line speeds resulting in higher production rates.
- Accurate spray placement and exceptional spray pattern integrity ensures that the sprayed solution is delivered to the target with minimal waste.
- Downtime from spray tip changeover is eliminated as PulsaJet® nozzles provide a wide range of flow rates from a single spray tip.
- PulsaJet® also eliminates the need to stock multiple tips.
- PulsaJet® nozzles operate at low flow rates using clog-resistant larger spray tips, thus reducing costly interruptions to production.
- Achieve improved worker safety by reducing or eliminating misting and overspray greatly improving the work environment.
- Changing over to PulsaJet® system is not costly as most systems can be fitted to existing plant.
Improved productivity is achieved with Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) flow control.
PWM flow control involves switching electrically actuated PulsaJet® spray nozzles on and off very quickly using an AutoJet® spray controller. For a duty cycle of 50%, the nozzle sprays half the time and the flow will be 50% of the flow rate for that nozzle at a given pressure. This cycling takes place so quickly that the flow often appears to be constant and the coverage remains reasonably uniform. Controlling flow rate by adjusting duty cycle and frequency provides distinct advantages over controlling flow by adjusting pressure.
Q. How do I optimise the performance of my Automatic Spray Nozzle system?
A. Spray Systems Co. provides the answer with the revolutionary AutoJet® 1550 Modular Spray System packed with features to improve the quality and efficiency of your operations.
Problem-Solving with the AutoJet® Model 1550 Modular Spray System
Bakery Solves Oil Application Problem
A bakery needed to apply oil to a conveyor to prevent product sticking. Pouring oil on the conveyor from a trough wasted a great deal of material and created a mess.
An AutoJet® Model 1550 Modular Spray System and a header equipped with ¼JAU air atomizing nozzles solved the problem. The system pulls oil directly from a suitable drum and coats the conveyor uniformly without any waste or mess. The reduced use of non-stick oil and elimination of costly downtime for clean-up prompted the order of additional systems.
Inconsistent Coating Eliminated
A metal fabricator needed to apply a precise volume of lubricant to a stamping press when triggered. Manual application of the lubricant was inconsistent and waste was excessive. The AutoJet® Model 1550 Modular Spray System provided an economical solution. The lubricant is drawn from a tote and applied to the die precisely every time. The efficiency and precision of the system led the fabricator to purchase a system for every stamping press.
Precision Spray Control Solves Misting Issues
Applying a light, even coating of corn syrup was the challenge facing one food processor. Corn syrup needed to be applied using low flow rates, but the processor didn’t want to use air atomizing nozzles due to potential misting problems and the expense of compressed air.
The AutoJet® Model 1550 Modular Spray System and PulsaJet® automatic spray nozzles proved to be an ideal way to apply the viscous syrup. Using Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) flow control, the PulsaJet nozzles operate at a very low duty cycle to achieve the desired flow rates, resulting in lower material usage and improved product quality.
