The maintenance plan does not appear to be working. Previously Qantas passengers chose to fly on the older, less comforatable Qantas planes due to the excellent safety record of Qantas. However this safety reputation has been well and truly trashed, so why would a person choose Qantas over Emirates or Singapore Airlines, where the comfort and facilities are excellent AND the staff understand the difference between service and servitude. Something the Qantas stewards in their arrogance forget eg I unfolded my table to find dried orange juice all over it. I asked the steward to give it a wipe. Later the steward dropped a wet flannel on the table, without even pausing. I had to clean up someone else's mess. This was the final straw with Qantas, never again will I fly Qantas. Qantas - expensive, poor facilities, poor service, the CEO is allowing (pushing?) Qantas into a pit.

If Qantas and Jetstar inflight service is a barometer of what happens under the hood, it is no surprise that things are falling off... like the odd engine. Trying to how they towed the idling aircraft down from 3,000 ft to the gate?? Awesome work by ground staff for sure so there is some hope.
