Another $285 million has been set aside for them over four years for upgrading roads, and another $40 million for flood security, under the state government's royalties for regions program.
Premier Campbell Newman says the scheme ensures the state is giving back to the communities negatively impacted by mining.
"This is about putting an end to years of Labor neglect and ensuring people in regional Queensland benefit from the income generated by their hard work and our resources," he said in a statement.
The 14 council areas eligible for the program will be able to apply from September.
Only $60 million in funding will be available to applicants this financial year for critical projects.
That will build over to more than $200 million a year.
Mining companies will be able to contribute to the scheme, with contributions required under their social impact management plans.
